I hope you have taken that comment to fuel your love for writing. You were the first person I came across when I downloaded substack so I'm glad you're here!

Watching Legally Blonde after a situation like this is SO real. Would do the exact same and oh boy did it make my blood boil when she said what she said. I HATE that.
It’s always a projection of their own fears and shortcomings - never anything factual or about us. Like you say, she’s never seen your work so she can’t comment. She made a judgement based on her experience of her own life - that’s what I always remind myself! 🩷

It reminds me of when Taylor Swift won a Grammy for “Mean” and said in her acceptance speech there’s nothing like writing a song about someone who hates you and is really mean, and then winning a Grammy for it. Icon behavior. The same can be true for you, especially now that you’ve written a Substack about it 😏🙌🏼🔥

Ella I’m so sorry this happened to you. Just remember that a comment like that often comes from the persons own insecurities and it’s often a projection of their own thoughts about themselves. You maybe find that person would of LOVED the courage and passion you have for your writing and instead of saying something encouraging their ego does the talking. Shoulders back, head high and continue on the path that your desire xx
