Ugh I LOVE this Ella!!! I think there's such an irony in trends like Quiet Luxury and the current "demure" trend because if you're bragging about being demure or quietly luxe then you aren't, in fact, either of those things 🤣 I'd never actually heard of The Row before this piece!

You've now put me in a Mary-Kate and Ashley mood though so I know what I'll be watching this weekend...

It’s so ironic isn’t it?! The Row is so classic, a friend of a friend will only wear The Row and it’s a life I could only dream of. I could buy a house with his wardrobe!

Ooh deffo have a Mary Kate & Ashley marathon - my faves were always The Challenge and New York Minute, though I did always have a soft spot for Billboard Dad! 💕💕

Omg now THAT is the dream 😭

I had a box set of some of their films so would watch them allll the time! My favourite was 1000% Billboard Dad, I can still remember most of the scenes 🤣

I loved reading this Ella 🤍 Your take on quiet luxury embodies much more than just a look and that’s what I appreciate.

Your deep dives are so so good Ella 🥹💕 I love the idea of quiet luxury because it feels timeless, classic and (funnily enough) beyond trends. While I don’t necessarily lust for a white t-shirt from The Row, I so agree with you that “quiet luxury” can mean so many different things to different people. It’s a lifestyle, not only reserved for the rich and famous, but for anyone who appreciates a classic look, a more private life, or anyone who simply enjoys the little things that make life worth living, the true luxuries we may be so fortunate to experience 🤍

Thank you Kirsten 🥹 that really means a lot! Exactly, and I think it's the same with a lot of 'cores' and trends - they're really not dependent on material objects but more the way we choose to live, which in turn makes them a whole lot more accessible

Love this so much!! I'm moments away from deleting socials because of the constant bragging, oversharing and ironic quiet luxury, demure trends, when they're anything but. As I step deeper into my thirties, I'm leaning fully into the luxury of calm, quiet, living life for myself.

Thanks Michelle! 💕💕 I agree, it’s so much nicer and less pressure to step back and keep your life yours. Socials perpetuate the idea that we need to have it all and we really don’t

This was amazing! Loved the analysis and your take on it. Especially the part that there is no right or wrong way to participate in a trend. Despite the actual money aspect, I have a feeling that privacy itself is becoming the actual luxury of our lifetime.
