loved this piece thank you <3 last weekend i was at a music festival and some linkedin connection of mine took out his saxophone to play along IN THE CROWD to the song the dj was playing, and then a woman with a musical egg started joining in and they started forming their own band in the crowd of the set it was bizarre and unexpected but we had a good laugh you know

I hope I'm not the only one who is curious as to what your job is? I'm sensing something to do with marketing or something creative!? Also those flowers are gorgeoussss! x

Haha yes! Events/marketing, depending on the project! I work with artists a lot and they are the nicest sorts of people, hence the flowers 💐

Ah that’s sounds like such a fun job!!! I’ve always been interested in marketing/branding but not sure how to get into it haha x

Honestly it's such a funny one because so much of marketing is common sense!! I fell into it to be honest, I started off as a volunteer for six years through gap years/uni then got a part time role there, and without that I think I'd have struggled because I have no other marketing experience! Your writing is so great though so I bet you'd smash a communications and branding role, do you make your imagery yourself too? It's always so perfect

Ah that’s really interesting actually! Thank you for sharing that with me. That’s a nice way to get into it as well. Thank you so much and yes I do my images myself thank youuu <3

Loved reading this – popped a smile on my face before a busy Wednesday!

So much of the time, we're focused on perfection and living life in a particular way that anything out of that expectation feels weird and 'not part of the plot'. We absolutely need to embrace the plot twists and spontaneity, they make the best stories after all. Also, that spread at your friend's place sounds magnificent!

Yay glad you enjoyed it Michelle! Hope your Wednesday isn't too stressy! Exactly - some of the best bits are the ones that take us by surprise. There's nothing we can do about them so we may as well embrace them! It was delicious - I was apprehensive about miso cabbage but honestly I was wrong. Sooo good!

Loved this! Also feel your pain at missing the northern lights (are you based in the north of England too??), and hoping to have my own Wednesday night remedy at a friends this evening. And, obviously, completely honoured by the mention, thank you! 💕

Thank you Ellen!! 💗 Honestly it's devastating, I feel like everyone I know has seen them at this point. I'm not far up enough to be considered North but apparently everyone else saw them. Gutted! Have a lovely evening with your friends - and you're more than welcome, I'm loving your Substack!

Adore this as always Ella. For the past few months I've been trying to view certain moments as just part of a TV show - it might sound delulu but it's helped me detach from them and realise life isn't always that serious. Also, we all need a night like the one you had at Jo's. They're the best!

Just subscribed to Stephi from this piece too, so glad I've found her Substack!

Her recipes are 🤌🏻 perfection!

It works so well doesn't it?! Once you start doing it you realise that sitcoms are incredibly realistic lol
